Food community members are small producers who make high-quality products in a sustainable way. They share the problems generated by intensive agricultural methods, the wasteful use of natural resources and the focus of the food industry on standardization. The communities’ products are often produced in limited quantities by small-scale farms or processing businesses. They are also distinguished by their sensory, environmental and social qualities.
